Foreigners may be required to present a China Police Clearance Certificate or Non-Criminal Record Certificate for a variety of purposes abroad, including visa applications, residence permits, school attendance, employment, or immigration purposes.
Individuals should apply for the China Police Certificate at the local Public Security Bureau (PSB), then make application to the notary office for a notarial certificate based on the PSB police certificate. Applicants with no criminal record will be able to obtain a certificate to that effect. Certificates for individuals with one or more criminal convictions will list all convictions for which records still exist.
According to the policy, foreigners who have stayed in China for six months or more are eligible to apply for the investigation of Non-Criminal Record Certificate. Some countries require the China Police Certificate to be issued within 6 months. The notarial certificate of China Police Certificate does not show the expiry date, only the issue date can be found.
If the applicant currently lives abroad, he/she can nominate the third party to apply for Hangzhou Police Certificate on his/her behalf with a Power of Attorney..
